Mother's Day Luncheon

Barret's preschool has a fun tradition that every Spring the kids and teachers give a Mother's Day luncheon.  It was supposed to be held on May 6th, but was rescheduled to May 13th because of the school closures due to the Swine Flu.  I ended up co-oping that day and it was a lot of fun helping the kids prepare lunch for their moms.  They served bagel and cream cheese sandwiches with lettuce, carrot slices, bell peppers and cucumbers on them for the moms.  Most of the kids opted for plain cream cheese.  The kids spread the cream cheese themselves with popsicle sticks and put on the veggies.  They also frosted the sugar cookies and put on the sprinkles themselves.  Lemonade, watermelon and Sun chips rounded out the menu. The teachers presented us with pastel hats that the kids had helped to make and then the kids sang to us.  After that they gave us our presents.  They had decorated small wooden boxes with colored tissue paper and ribbon.  Then we ate our delicious lunch and had our pictures taken.

Isn't my hat beautiful?
