Well the 2008-2009 school year has officially begun! The girls got themselves and then me up at a quarter to seven this morning. It would be nice if they continued to jump out of bed all year long. We had time to take a few photos to document the occasion.

Blythe is now in the Fourth Grade
and has Mr. Howard as her teacher.

She was actually more excited about
school than she appears in this photo.
Blythe just has a hard time smiling for the camera.

Brynne is now in the Second Grade
and is in Mrs. Goodwin's class. She on the
other hand looks more excited to start
school than she actually was.

Brynne has decided to grow her hair
out. I much prefer it bobbed, but
have given in for the time being.

I always like to get a photo of the three kids together, however Barrett wasn't cooperating this morning, so this photo is from last year. My cousin Kirsten did a darling post about her three kids first day of school and included photos from their first day of preschool to illustrate how much they have grown. I wanted to do the same thing, but I only started using a digital camera last year so I needed to scan the photos into the computer, but Barrett has broken my scanner. The kids certainly have grown and changed in just one year though. It's scary how grown up Blythe is looking all of a sudden.

Walking to the bus stop at 7:30 a.m. It was only 56
degrees out so the girls are wearing fleece jackets.
Barrett only walked long enough for me to take
a picture then I had to carry him the rest of the way.

Madison, Blythe, Lauren and Brynne at the
bus stop. Madison and Lauren are sisters
and are in the same grades as my girls.
Notice how much taller my amazon girls are.

Barrett looking very pleased with himself for
managing to scale this rock while waiting
for the school bus. Barrett is going through
a phase in which he wears his pajamas all
day long. I'm hoping I can get him dressed
when he starts preschool on Wednesday.

I can't believe how big they are getting! I can't believe school is here again already. Your girls, like I never tire of saying, are GORGEOUS.
The photo which is missing is the one showing how giddy with happiness Jill is to have the first day of school arrive. I just hope she doesn't opt for boarding school next year! They are great grandkids.

Blythe looks like this...young woman...not a little girl. They are all stunning. Congrats on a first day of school well done. So sorry about your Grandma.
